During the past decade, the sustainability issue has become a burning topic in many industries. Retail is not an exclusion and such terms as responsible shopping and green clothes and footwear are gaining popularity around the world. Sustainable footwear can also be stylish and affordable - that’s the motto of VANGOK.
Challenge

The main request on cus­tomers’ side was to design a beau­ti­ful e‑commerce solu­tion and pro­vide a work­ing plan on pro­mot­ing it online. The web­site should either be prompt­ing vis­i­tors to make pur­chas­es online, as well as increase the aware­ness on sus­tain­abil­i­ty and respon­si­ble shopping.

Solution

The main goal we were chas­ing while design­ing this web­site was to com­bine aes­thet­ics with great func­tion­al­i­ty. The lay­out should recall close­ness to nature. With the adjust­ment of right colours and fonts, we man­aged to suc­cess­ful­ly achieve that. The shop itself is designed to be easy to nav­i­gate. We used a cou­ple of mar­ket­ing “tricks” to make prod­uct pages more com­pelling and prompt vis­i­tors to purchase.

To pro­vide the grow­ing num­ber of leads com­ing from social media, we devel­oped a very broad year­ly con­tent plan with a diver­si­ty of con­tent to engage with the audi­ence and prompt them to vis­it the website.

Brand Style Guide

Logotype
The client has also provided the initial mockups of the logo, we refreshed it a little bit in a way it served multiple purposes and looked good either on the website, or in instagram profile, or even on a business card.
Colours
The client has shared her vision on the colour palette she’d prefer to use. Since it included earthy and natural colours - green, tints of ochre, gray, our mission was to make tit look fresh and playful.
Fonts
Roboto Slab
Roboto has a dual nature. It has a mechanical skeleton and the forms are largely geometric. At the same time, the font features friendly and open curves. While some Grotesques distort their letterforms to force a rigid rhythm, Roboto doesn’t compromise, allowing letters to be settled into their natural width. This makes for a more natural reading rhythm more commonly found in humanist and serif types.
