GSA are part of a very niche industry, so it's important that their website is as informative as possible, given its specialised nature. It should, however, be presented in an engaging manner, to retain interest and gain repeat visits.
Challenge

The clien­t’s old web­site had been online for some time, so it real­ly need­ed a new design direc­tion, and a rethink on how the infor­ma­tion should best be pre­sent­ed. We were tasked to cre­ate a refresh, focussing on pre­sen­ta­tion of key information.

The web­site was to be built in Ger­man and Eng­lish, with switch­ing to the oth­er lan­guage pos­si­ble “on-page”.

Solution

Using images was an impor­tant fac­tor in our solu­tion, in order to break up the large amounts of con­tent pro­vid­ed by the client for their process­es and machin­ery. We kept the pages sim­ple in lay­out, with a con­stant look and feel to each page for famil­iar­i­ty and to build trust.

The web­site was cre­at­ed using a mul­ti­lin­gual plu­g­in, allow­ing the site to be pre­sent­ed in Ger­man and English.

GSA supplied us with their two shades of blue, and we added a bright yellow for link and call-to-action highlighting.
Fonts
Kanit
Kanit means mathematics in Thai, and the Kanit typeface family is a formal Loopless Thai and Sans Latin design. It is a combination of concepts, mixing a Humanist Sans Serif motif with the curves of Capsulated Geometric styles that makes it suitable for various uses, contemporary and futuristic.
Lato
Lato is a sans-serif typeface family started in the summer of 2010 by Warsaw-based designer Łukasz Dziedzic (“Lato” means “Summer” in Polish). The semi-rounded details of the letters give Lato a feeling of warmth, while the strong structure provides stability and seriousness. “Male and female, serious but friendly. With the feeling of the Summer".
